The collapse of large companies, such as Enron bring out many tales, but none motivate action more than images of workers now left with little or nothing in the way of retirement plan benefits. In response, President Bush requested legislation in 2002 to help employees in the future against such catastrophic losses.

Nevertheless, the safety net once in place for long term employees in exchange for years of company loyalty has now been torn to shreds. We are witnessing the abuse brought about through alliances between large corporations and government as more and more of our American jobs export oversees.

A river of greed flows from positions of power, drowning the confidence and sense of security of the common worker. The belief that years of work and company loyalty secures financial stability at the end of a working life is more wishful thinking, than realistic expectations for most of us.

This is why I believe that each of us MUST rely on our independent efforts to secure a comfortable retirement. We must prepare a mindset which can conceive the ability of securing new sources of income, including residual and passive income streams that will support us through the later years as an act of self preservation. This could include securing second incomes through starting a home based business, or even through joining an internet money making opportunity.

The mindset must be restructured so that while you’re still expecting a good outcome, you’re also preparing for the worst (just in case)…

Retirement Cashflow Solutions Your Plan B

Self employment implies that someone works for themselves. These types of individuals are referred to as either entrepreneurs or business owners.

In fact, there are several forms of self employment that anyone wanting to work for themselves can pursue, such as:

Entrepreneurship / The Small Business Owner – An “entrepreneur” is a small business owner of a traditional business model. Lately however, this term is taking on a broader meaning, to include those people pursuing the newer online business models, which leads me into the next category:

The Freelancers – The freelancer does not officially or legally run a business entity, but is still considered to be self employed. The freelancers generally works under a contract with several different clients and may provide various services. He sometimes may work from a home, or on a temporary basis, may also work from a particular client’s business location.

The Independent Consultant – The independent consultant also usually works as an independent contractor on a per-project basis and may consult his clients on various business matters. Essentially the same as a freelancer, the independent consultant often manages his freelance jobs in a manner more likely to resemble running an official business. In fact, some independent consultants form companies structured as sole proprietorship or partnerships as opposed to simple freelancing without a business entity.

The Investor – Some individuals resist working for others as they enjoy the self employed life and choose to earn their incomes strictly through investing in other businesses, projects, or opportunities such as the stock market and forex markets.

The Partnership – It is really not necessary for a business owner to actually own their own solo-business to be considered self employed. In fact, many self employed people own businesses with one or more partners and share the risks and responsibilities under this type of protective entity.

The Owner / President / CEO / Stockholder – This group of people are a composition of a combination of several of the other types of self employment. The difference being that they tend to gravitate towards larger corporations, or organizational models. It may consist of one owner in a large private company, or several owners at various executive levels, or simply a group of stockholders owning a company.

Affiliate Marketing – What It Is & How You Make Money Doing It

Everywhere you look these days there is some program promising to make you the next internet millionaire. Well let me tell you what, I am not so easily buying it and I am VERY selective of the opportunities that I promote to my online friends and followers.

Now that doesn’t mean that there’s just no way to make money online, because there are plenty of ways to do so. There are several good ways, but right now I want to discuss only one way: Affiliate Marketing.

How to make money online is quite a good dilemma, but Affiliate Marketing can be quite a good solution for this dilemma.

The first thing that you will need to know is WHAT affiliate marketing really is, and HOW you may be able to make money from home with it.

So, What is Affiliate Marketing?!

Well, Affiliate Marketing is nothing more than one person agreeing to “sell” a product for another person in exchange for a commission, or a portion of the receivables from that sale. Certainly It sounds simple enough, but as they say, the devil is always in the details…

You can set up your Affiliate Programs in several different ways.

One of the most popular ways for internet marketers to make commissions with Affiliate Marketing is using a pay per click or pay per lead method. This means that when a potential customer clicks on your personalized link and heads over to the merchants’ website, you will get a small commission for that referral.

What’s nice about this type of program is that you are compensated whether a sale takes place or not. The downside is that your compensation is usually very very small, somewhere around the neighborhood of pennies per click on most occasions.

However, if the customer then fills out contact information while on the merchants’ site, then this would now be considered a lead and the compensation to you would be a bit higher because the possibility of a sale is greater than with just a simple click through.

The type of situation where you start making real money is when you are given a percentage of that sale. This is relatively straightforward. The customer either buys the product on your site, or clicks your personalized link and purchases from the actual merchant. In my opinion, this is the best compensation plan of any affiliate set-up offered.

Most agreements may even contain some, if not all of the above-mentioned compensation plans. Some agreements may only be purchase based, but that is acceptable since the money to be made is much greater with this type of agreement. It is entirely up to you to decide which plan will work best for you.

Working from Home

Now that you have a basic concept of what Affiliate Marketing is all about, you will want to explore some of the available online merchants that offer Affiliate Programs. The rest is just signing up with the one(s) you are most comfortable working with.

You will find plenty of merchants at sites such as Clickbank, Commission Junction, EBay and Amazon. All of these popular sites offer an Affiliate Program. Simply choose the one(s) you would like to promote and get ready to market the link.

I like working with Clickbank because they offer some of the highest commission payouts on digital products available online; some as high 75% of the sale price. Also, Clickbank will pay you weekly via direct deposit.

The one thing you must know is that you will need a website or a blog to accomplish these sales. That is, you will need to have pages online somewhere where you can generate interest, describe the products and the benefits of using it, and from there direct this interested traffic to your affiliates’ sales page for the final sale.

How To Use Online Forums To Get FREE Traffic

Over time, I have gotten many questions from readers on how they can promote their list building programs, like DownlineBuilderDirect.com without having a list of their own.

Some of my newest readers have no lists or website at all. They also do not know how to use pay per click campaigns; and in general, they’re not familiar with ways of communicating with a large, targeted group of warm prospects that may have interest in their offers.

Here’s just one example of questions that I have answered regarding this dilemma:

Is this possible at all to promote your website if I just started out and have nothing more then internet browser and internet connection?

Answer to this question is… YES

I described below how you can get free traffic. In short all you need is to add your DownlineBuilderDirect.com link to your forum signature and follow advice below. Remember that this is much easier to giveaway something free than to sell something.

Many web users frequently involve themselves in at least one online forum. Online forums are a great way to connect with others on a more personal level. Some forums are very informal and involve discussion on everyday issues, while others are more informational.

If you are trying to find free ways to advertise your affiliate link, using online forums to promote website traffic is a great idea. There are several ways you can use online forums to promote affiliate link. You should carefully consider the various different approaches and how you want yourself to be viewed before using a forum as a means of advertising.

Another thing to consider when using direct advertisements in online forums is that the entire approach may seem a little pushy. Many people consider online forums as a place that is personal and free from annoying ads.

Therefore, they may not respond well to a direct advertisement as they may see it as being made by an intruder that is not part of the normal forum “family”.

Being bold enough to go this route however will most definitely give your more traffic, because some of the readers will be prompted to check out your page for more information and will link directly from your signature line posting.

When deciding to use online forums to promote DownlineBuilderDirect.com link you need to consider what types of forums would be most appropriate for your posts. You can certainly use forums that you regularly comment within, even if they have nothing to do with your website.

of most marketer’s posts… and put your MySpace page link there and
your lead capture page (personal or primary program etc…)

5. Click around. Read to see how they communicate in there, then
start helping people by teaching basic online marketing skills
(all over our training site)

6. Do this couple times per day for next 3-6 months in the same
2-3 Forums to get known… this is how I created my first list…

The Difference Between Democrats and Republicans

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost.
