Economic Meltdown and Other Illusory States of Being

Every autumn, our church Unity on the Bay of South Florida begins an adventure in faith by choosing one book to discuss & to serve as the central theme of Sunday services.

This year we chose Deepak Chopra’s “Peace is the Way” as catalyst to encourage further spiritual development. Rev. Chris Jackson began ministering today with mention of how deeply rooted in lack, limitation & fearful concerns this week’s news has become. Further that this fear reflects a global collective consciousness that is becoming deeply focused on the experiences of lack in this world of materiality.

What has become a daily reality for many is but the creation of a planetary collective consciousness now focused on lack & limitation. If we allow our attentions to dwell solely on external matters in this world of time, space & form then living becomes illusory- like perceiving reflections off the surface of a well believing the distortions we perceive are how the world truly is.

The truth as seen from a much deeper level of existence is that the external world and the circumstances of time and space exist only to encourage us to decide to believe that which we are going to believe and then to challenge us to decide to live in the integrity of that which we’ve come to believe. Stop to question your beliefs as you answer these questions for yourself:

“Am I thinking for myself?”

“Does my belief system come from lessons I’ve been taught by others to believe in?”

“Are these my original thoughts that I hold as reality- that make up the essence of my life and all that I perceive within it?”

credo |ˈkrēdō; ˈkrādō| noun ( pl. -dos) a statement of the beliefs or aims that guide someone’s actions : he announced his credo in his first editorial.

You can begin by establishing a credo in life. Then set out to guide your actions by it. Once you’ve been blessed to discover through meditation that which is truly your belief, life will take on the intensity that pushes you deeper into your heart space. It is from there that you must decide what is right. And from that moment of awareness onward, your life will insistently call you forth to challenge your courage to stand behind that which you believe in. No one promised you that living would be easy.

To live with integrity means that you will forever stand within the truth of that which is in your heart, standing witness to that which you’ve already determined to be the truth for you. When you are then challenged by a mass, global belief system of the collective consciousness which floods your senses with bad news, with news of lack and limitations that arise from a material plane this will be your call to action. This collective dark fear will challenge you to stand behind your convictions in the knowledge that you know that you are living within the realm of intimate abundance & spiritual prosperity.

These are times to bring forth the truths of your being through external action. A time to stand clearly in front of the play of time and space. This is the time to test yourself so that you may decide what world you will put your full confidence in. If you stand firm in your integrity and have done the inner work of strengthening your spirit by realizing the value and true purpose of your life then you will be free to think quite unlike the fear driven masses.

Draw on your confidence that just as in your inner world so will be your external experiences of living. Move through doubts, fears, illusions of lack & limitation and drive the dark emotions straight through the light of your truth.

This is the only way for you to live your life in full integrity. This is the only way for you to perceive life and to give it the meaning that comes out of your core beliefs. This is the only way for you to break out of this global collective consciousness that drives most weak men mad with fears and uncertainties in this world of duality- the world filled with the illusions of both space and time.

The delusional group hysteria is upon us. Like tides of global belief they will rise and fall now as they has always done collectively throughout time- angry waves that rapture from a stormy seas.

How then shall you respond as a spiritual being to the current state of this world? How should you be expected to refocus your perceptions as appearances reveal that for so many people the expenses exceed their income as an expression of the fear & lack that has overtaken us in this dualistic world?

It is during times like these as the world of illusion challenges our spiritual core of beliefs that we must tell ourselves we are ‘open and receptive’ to unexpected sources of income. Precisely during these moments in life must we turn to the power of prayer (meditation or contemplation, if you will) and tune in to the abundance of unlimited channels through which we will find infinite sources of income. Your job and your paycheck are not the only vehicles to abundance. Open up your heart and mind to the abundance that surrounds you. There are avenues of energy moving all about you. Through internal strength and your convictions you can tap into that portion which belongs to you as the child of divine light that you truly are.

• a statement or slogan repeated frequently:
she would voice her mantra each morning in preparation for the brand new day.

Develop your ‘mantra’. This is the way to access the power of prayer. Live in the idea, through constant repetition and belief that you are made of infinite abundance and that you dwell in infinite abundance. Know that this abundance along with your ability to dwell in internal peace among the outer turbulence of the storms of an illusory world are your birthrights as a child of God.

To borrow from A Course in Miracles, repeat the ‘mantra’ which states “I can see the peace instead of this if I so choose to.” The lesson here is that you can set up the conditions that prevail when you refocus on another way of perceiving your reality. Peace of mind is a choice. There is no way to peace as peace IS the way. Peace is the only way. And as you dwell within this peace of mind you can extend these thoughts of peace forth as tentacles onto the world. Here is my prayer:

“Let these thoughts that spring from my mind create a peaceful world born out of my immediate space. Let the peace that spreads from within me touch upon every person that I speak to today, that I smile on today and that touch my life in some way today. Let spring forth from me the peace and charity that disseminates from one life to another. Let each person that I grace within my peaceful space move forth to touch the outer bands of lives beyond which I will never know. And in this manner may my small circle of love, a creation from the center of my heart move forth as a pebble ripples wider currents upon the surface of still waters. Let the peace created from within me spread widening currents of peace that feed into the loving ocean called my life.”

Practice the concept of the nonviolent individual capable of receiving violence and like the alchemist, creates and delivers peace in exchange. Tell yourself, “I could choose peace instead of this.” In this manner begin the journey along with others that have chosen to take the collective journey towards becoming more nonviolent individuals in a world of anger driven by the erroneous fears of lack & limitation.
