Writing A Press Release For Your Home Based Business

Let’s see how you can use press releases as free lead generating system method.
I never thought much about the power of a press release because I had no clue as to their effectiveness until I finally learned what they can do for you.
Several years ago, I reached a growth snag in my offline business and in reviewing my marketing textbooks I revisited the use and the art of press release writing. Only a handful of my competitors were even bothering with using press releases as any form of marketing method. So I had nothing to lose and no competition by doing so…
Being as though I make a terrible follower, I decided to do the opposite from what all the others were doing and thus, I discovered how powerful press releases really are.
Online, the power of a well thought out press release can be as potent, if not more so. Just recently one of my top trainers informed me that her most powerful press release was generating over 4 million hits over an 11 month period. That’s alot of ammo!!
You can bet I got behind the power of this marketing strategy.
A lot of my marketing fellows ask me how they could do the same and I simply reply that you must absolutely love (or develop a love) for writing. In fact you need to burn a passion hole through your pocket that will rain value and information all over your audience- information that interests, entertains and informs. It’s just that simple.
I am a problem solver and that’s what press releases are all about. A press release gives people the extra information to make sound decisions about products, services or some company news.

A Press release is a key to successful publicity. First of all it is your story. And everyone knows that stories create curiosity. As children, we grew up on stories. As adults, we use stories to illustrate the purpose of our discussions. You can make a press release sound like an announcement about your new business, the launch or expansion of a new product line, or a celebration of new events in your life, etc…

Secondly, press releases create credibility for you and they cost very little, to NO money to distribute online. Also as a plus, it usually takes very little time to put one together.

Third, good press releases are usually picked up by other publishing services which gives you the extra publicity that you couldn’t buy for any amount of money. It builds trust and people know you are serious about what you do. It is a great ice breaker in business building relationship.
Press releases have assisted me in so many ways from just driving traffic to creating amazing business partners. And the best part is that those press releases are still online. They are part of online publishing history forever!
So you see, if a business owner writes just 2 press releases a week, that would come to 104 press releases a year. It ‘s not such a difficult task to do but it may be a bit time consuming at the start.
"So How Can You Get Your Press Releases Picked Up By The Search Engines?"
1. Make sure you write in an editorial tone. This is not a sales pitch.
2. Use Long Tail Keywords. These are very effective for getting you on the Google results page. Essentially, this is a long phrase , but you will have far less competition when you write this way. I recommend you try www.wordtracker.com for a free trial…

3. Make sure your keywords are in headline, first paragraph and second paragraph of the press release.
4. If you have a personal website make it known in the press release in the section about yourself. It creates backlinking
5. If you have a blog, link to your press release from your blog for the cross traffic and link backs. Again this creates more exposure for your press release.
6. Proof read the press release several times before submitting it to the public relations online services

There are many choices ranging from free press releases to paid versions. Anyone can find tons of websites to submit their press releases…
However not every press release company will do good work. So here is a list of my recommended press releases sources…
ONE CAVEAT: Make sure that you do not submit the same press release to the same places, because the Google spiders will think that you are spamming Google and you can be penalized for that.

Write A HubPage That Makes You Money

I’ve been reviewing free marketing methods to see where I can get the most bang for my buck and by far one stands out above the rest ~ writing a HubPage.
If you’re relatively new to online marketing, you’re probably thinking:
“What the heck is a Hubpage Ana?”
“Why would HubPage marketing take priority over anything else?”
Well I’ll tell you why…
HubPage is a rich content sharing site, much like this blog site. However, unlike this blog it is far better in terms of getting ranked by the search engines.
HubPage is the perfect blending of a blog, press release and perhaps even video marketing; the harmonious blending of the best in available current marketing strategies combined in one place.
The best part of “HubPage” publishing is that it is currently getting great Google attention. And this is exactly what you need if you want to be found online.
When you publish your article on a HubPage, it can get ranked very quickly; thus, helping you make money online sooner than later. Also, combining the capsules they provide you for monetizing your HubPage using adsense ads, ebay and amazon can also bring you sales commissions for your writing efforts.

HubPage literally walks you through the painful process to make it less difficult for you, as they did for me.
Step-by-step instructions get you signed up to the google adsense, ebay and amazon sights for your affiliate number. Now let’s get YOUR account up and running… (Make sure you print out this page to use as a guide)
Find a topic of interest that you want to discuss. It could be information about your product, service or any relevant subjects to provide your reader with great information.
Make it interesting so that they’ll want to learn more about you and read more of what else you write. Remember, you must make it both fun and interesting! You always want your readers to crave more information from you and to return to your hubs.
After you have created an account with “HubPage” log in and click on the CREATE A NEW HUB button.
1. Enter the title of your page. Make sure this is a keyword that you want to target or a keyword phrase that you want ranked on the search engines.
2. Next enter your tags or keywords. Enter at least 15 keywords or tags altogether.
3. Click Create.
4. Now add capsules. The capsules are located on the right site of your hub back office.
5. Make sure that you rotate text with images, and text with videos. This makes it graphically much more interesting. I will direct you to my HubPage as an example in a few seconds.
6 You will want to to add 3 to 5 images and/or 2 to 3 videos if you like for completion.
7. Now add capsule LINKS. Do not add to many links or it might be classified as a spamming site that redirects readers outwards only without providing quality and quantity. Try adding 8-10 links to other HubPage articles that you have created within the site or keep it to 3-4 outward bound links to your website or affiliate link. You can use up to 30 word description (long tail keyword titles) with your links. That’s a plus!
8. Now add the Amazon Capsule with books or products that relate to the topic you have discussed.
9. Before you submit the Hub for publication, go to the top of your page and you will see a capsule that has a TAB labeled “Summary Text”. This is where you will describe the topic of your hub in just a few sentences. When you describe your hub do not let the software calculate your summary automatically as this will pull one or two sentences from the beginning of your page. Take the time to write out the main purpose of this page as this is exactly what the Google Search Results will show up for your site. You want the person doing a Google Search to get what they need from YOU so write it out for them clearly in two sentences or three. Enter a 130 to 150 words description making it informative and short.
10. It’s super important to ask friends and business colleagues to leave you comments. Get a fan club going for yourself with friends and make new friends in the HubPage community so they will be informed when you have published a new hub.
